TWO GREAT MINDS
About the Founders.
In 2017 April Pride has worked in Canada’s pre- and post- regulated market. Worldwide women represent 15% of board of directors.
In Canada it is 21%. In Canadian Cannabis it is 5%.
April saw how quickly cannabis was accepted as a wellness product in 2018. Previous research on cannabis’ effect of women’s reproductive health educated April to the fact that FDA approved 26 pharmaceuticals for men’s sexual health and only 1 for women. Not to mention contraception meds and devices that have destroyed women’s bodies and dreams of a family.
Connecting these dots she connected with college friend Ellen Scanlon who previously worked at a start-up focused on women’s health.
The two share the belief that if the cannabis industry is the biggest thing to happen in wellness in decades and women are stigmatized for working in the cannabis industry then we as women will not be represented where the decisions are being made. Once again.
Not a chance.
